Enabling Works at Rehau Recycling Factory, Bridgewater Park, Runcorn

Works Description:

Frank Rogers kickstarted refurbishment works at the new Northern processing plant of national window and door specialists, Rehau in Oct-19.

The project forms the second recycling plant to be developed by Rehau and a first within the North of England, strengthening the firm’s commitment to improving environmental standards and recycling across the UPVC sector.

Appointed as Principle Contractor, Frank Rogers led subcontractor coordination across a complex working environment, working in partnership with groundworkers, mechanical & electrical engineers, surveyors and technicians, delivery companies and cleaners.

We adhered to a strict programme excavating 6x6m slab, casting a new reinforced concrete platform agreed with system engineers from Europe requiring exact dimensions for anchoring new recycling machinery and infrastructure.

Further works required the installation of new 100m drainage/water feed for new equipment and alteration of structural steelwork to install new 7m wide automatic entrance door to the recycling plant.

The project will not only improve recycling availability across the North of England but contribute towards reducing Carbon Footprint for many companies install and recycling UPVC windows and doors across the North West.

Mark Jones, Contracts Manager at Frank Rogers explained:

“This project will make the site fully fit for purpose and ready for the installation of a series of plant that will form part of the wider recycling process. There was a lot of ground and civils woks involved delivered through a large supply chain. The project required careful management due to several trades working in proximity to each other maintaining a tight deadline of just six weeks”.
