Works Description
FR Fire Protection were successfully appointed following competitive tender completing fire upgrade works across a 2-year contract working with award winning student accommodation provider Liberty Living.
The works included £700,000 passive fire compartmentation upgrade, primarily across student residential dwellings within; Glasgow, Aberdeen, Leeds and Liverpool.
Challenges
The very nature of Liberty’s continued success within a competitive student accommodation market included providing; safe and secure living environments within city centres.
We embraced the above within our mobilisation planning including:
- Developing an overarching Construction Phase Plan (CPP) with site specific CPPs populated 4 weeks prior to starting each site taking account of any unforeseen changes
- Annotated site compound sketches identifying material storage, welfare and management cabins.
- Individual site programmes provided to Liberty site agents supporting access
- Logistic plans identifying delivery routes across sites and city centre locations
We overcame security concerns presented while upgrading fire doors across site, initially replacing communal doors first maintaining overall block security prior to commencing individual student flats.
We devised a door checklist identifying all components necessary to remove, prep and install new fire doors ensuring our operatives could install student flat doors within a single visit maintaining added security, reducing the need for temporary removing valuable personal belongings etc.
Outcome
We continue to deliver fire improvement works for Liberty Living receiving over 97% customer satisfaction achieved through consistent communication and professional works delivery.
